This zip file contains data files, explanation of variable files, and SPSS syntax for Intertemporal Uncertainty Avoidance: When the Future is Uncertain, People Prefer the Present, and When the Present is Uncertain, People Prefer the Future by Hardisty & Pfeffer, published in Management Science.

The "main manuscript data" folder has the data and analyses that appear in the main manuscript. (This is only a subset of the conditions and variables that were actually run.) The "appendix data" folder has all the data and analyses for the online supplementals, which includes all the conditions and variables that were run.

As reported in the main manuscript, participants were only eligible to participate if they were at least 18 years old, passed an attention check (similar to Oppenheimer, Meyvis, & Davidenko, 2009) on the first page of the study, and were completing the study for the first time from that IP address (i.e., no repeat participants). These eligibility criteria were used for all our studies. Target sample sizes for each study were chosen based on intuition of what would be a healthy sample size given the number of conditions and the results (e.g., variance) of previous studies. All manipulations and measures for all studies can be found in Online Appendix A. Furthermore, there are no unreported (“file drawer”) studies on this project – all the studies we ran are reported in the manuscript or in the online appendix.
