The Certified Analytics Professional (CAP®) program will release an updated exam in April of this year. A revamp has just been completed that will showcase an updated Job Task Analysis (JTA). The updated exam and JTA will roll out April 1, 2020.

The overhaul was part of INFORMS’ efforts to stay on top of the latest issues and trends in the analytics profession. The periodic review and content update were completed through collaboration between a psychometrician, i.e., an exam expert, alongside current CAP professionals and the INFORMS certification manager. Collectively, they looked at the seven domains of which the exam is designed to measure proficiency. Based on the team’s assessment, new questions were added and existing questions were removed or modified to keep the exam up to date and relevant.

The international CAP program is a professional development opportunity designed to test a broad range of knowledge, skills, and tasks. The certification provides analytics professionals with competitive skills to distinguish themselves from others while enriching their careers.

The exam is comprised of 100 multiple-choice questions and must be completed within a three-hour time frame. The new exam will be available globally on April 1.

Please visit the CAP site for more information, or contact the INFORMS Certification Manager, Heather Trusty, at [email protected].
