This issue of OR/MS Today marks the end of a storied chapter for INFORMS’ flagship magazine, and the start of a new one.

For 30 years Lionheart Publishing has developed and produced OR/MS Today, and for the past 10 years, Analytics magazine as well. These magazines have grown, innovated and matured with the times. What hasn’t changed, however, is that the Lionheart team has regularly produced magazines that have been consistently valued and praised by INFORMS members and other readers.

As you might know, however, a transition of the magazine’s production has been in the works. Effective May 1, INFORMS will be assuming the editorial and production responsibilities for both of our magazines, making this issue of OR/MS Today the final one to be produced by Lionheart.

To John Llewellyn and the staff at Lionheart, thank you. We are proud to have worked in partnership with you. INFORMS appreciates your innovation, creativity, hard work and dedication to the magazines and INFORMS.

As we get ready for the next exciting chapter of OR/MS Today and Analytics, I am delighted to share that the great editorial content between the covers will continue to be edited by Peter Horner. His experience and expertise are unmatched and will help ensure we don’t skip a beat in producing the great content we’ve all come to expect.

In the months ahead, we will begin unveiling a few changes, particularly around our digital content, to ensure we provide a rich experience for the magazines. There’s a lot of interesting information and news to share from within the profession and INFORMS, and we want to ensure we have a means of providing frequent content for our readers. We’ll be sure to share more details with you as we get closer to implementing them.

We have also recruited two talented associates to join our magazine publishing efforts. Kara Tucker will assume the role of assistant editor and will work directly with Pete on editorial and production issues. Olivia Schmitz, who serves as INFORMS’ sales manager, will assume responsibility for advertising sales for the magazines. The magazines will be overseen by the same INFORMS Publications team that manages the operations for all 16 of our journals, bringing to bear a wealth of additional experience that will help our magazines thrive moving forward.

While we work behind the scenes to ensure a seamless transition for our readers and partners, let me reaffirm that we won’t change INFORMS’ long-standing commitment to excellence in our work, integrity in our content, and ethics in our business practices. These core principles will continue to guide our approach to the operations of INFORMS and the production of our magazines.

Thank you for your loyalty and support. We are excited for the future and this new chapter for OR/MS Today and Analytics magazines, and to continuing to provide you with a trusted source of news and information about operations research and analytics.
