OR/MS Today: A Magazine Powered by Members, Driving Smarter Decision-making 

OR/MS Today is dedicated to advancing the field of operations research and analytics by delivering authoritative insights, inspiring stories and innovative perspectives by and for OR/MS professionals and academics. As the flagship membership magazine of INFORMS, we strive to provide readers with a comprehensive view of the industry’s most pressing challenges, emerging trends and impactful solutions. Through in-depth articles, case studies and member thought leadership, we aim to empower the OR/MS community with the knowledge and tools needed to drive informed decision-making and foster meaningful contributions to society.  

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Please submit a magazine topic form to for publication consideration. If submitting a draft, please follow the preferred guidelines:

1. Article should be vendor-neutral, written in narrative-style and submitted in a Word document.

2. Word count = 2,000 words maximum.

3. Avoid technical jargon (or define any necessary terms) and mathematical notation.

   1. If math/equations are necessary to support the content, please provide html code for the equations and/or an image.

4. Limit figures/tables/images to two (2) per 1,000 words (i.e., 1,100-word article may have two figures; 2,000-word article may have four). Source files must be provided for all figures (do not embed them into the article) and must be 300dpi (5.6 inches x 3 inches). For figures, .jpg or .pdf preferred. Tables can be formatted in Word, or an Excel file preferred.

3. Avoid technical jargon (or define any necessary terms) and mathematical notation.

   1. If math/equations are necessary to support the content, please provide html code for the equations and/or an image.

4. Source files must be provided for all figures (do not embed them into the article) and must be no less than 72dpi (1024x1024 pixels). For figures, .jpg or .pdf preferred. Tables can be formatted in Word, or an Excel file.
