Stochastic Systems Adopts Double-Anonymous Peer Review
Beginning February 16, Stochastic Systems (STSY) will implement a soft double-anonymous peer review process. Reviewer identities will not be shared with authors, and reviewers will not have access to author names.
Authors should remove all names and institutional affiliations from the manuscript title page prior to submission. As this is a soft double-anonymous model, authors may continue to post preprints online.
Manuscripts submitted before February 2026 will be grandparented under the current review process.
New in 2026: Short Correspondences for Concise, High-Impact Contributions
As of 2026, Stochastic Systems introduces a new submission category, Short Correspondences, intended for concise, high-quality contributions.
Submissions in the new Short Correspondences category are limited to eight pages and are handled through an expedited review process. Short Correspondences are intended for contributions of interest to the APS community, including high-quality research results that can be presented concisely; position papers on emerging topics; papers that help shape new research directions or articulate important open problems; and novel or thought-provoking ideas whose primary contribution lies in insight, formulation, or perspective. Submissions in this category are expected to stand on their own and are not intended as abbreviated versions of longer papers to be published elsewhere..
