INFORMS recently unveiled a new initiative – OR What? INFORMS Student Video Competition – developed by the Student Affairs Committee in conjunction with the INFORMS Marketing Department. The competition, opened to student members of INFORMS, involves creating a less-than-two-minute video that introduces the exciting world of OR/MS and analytics to an undergraduate student audience.

Students can enter the competition on their own or as part of a group from their university or student chapter. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 7. The results will be announced in March 2019, with $1,500 to first place, $1,000 to second and $500 to third (depending on the number and quality of entrants). Entries will be judged by a diverse committee of INFORMS members, including members of the Student Affairs Committee.
