The Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) has long represented the highest standard of analytics excellence. INFORMS is now taking that recognition even further.

INFORMS has just introduced CAP-Expert (CAP-X) – the enhanced senior-level certification that validates the ability of analytics professionals to lead complex analytics initiatives and drive organizational success. This launch is part of INFORMS' certification program expansion, supporting analytics professionals throughout their careers.

The enhanced CAP-Expert certification features:

• More detailed performance expectations for each domain
• Real-world scenarios focused on strategic decision-making
• New emphasis on leading teams and setting priorities
• Clearer guidance for exam preparation

Already a CAP holder?

If you earned and maintained a CAP certification prior to January 27, 2025, it will automatically transition to CAP-Expert in March 2025. No additional testing is required, and each individual's current recertification cycle remains unchanged.

• CAP-Essentials (CAP-E): Early-career certification launching spring 2025
• CAP-Pro (CAP-P): Mid-career certification launching late 2025
