Rejoinder—Using Parallel Empirical Testing to Advance Algorithm Research

The panel of commentators provided eloquent and insightful comments, which we found to be thoughtful as well as thought-provoking. We welcome this opportunity to respond to their remarks, and to expand on some of the issues that they brought forth. This paper is organized around two topics mentioned by Lusk: (1) the varying purposes of computational testing, and (2) using parallel testing to advance algorithmic research.
