MS Implementation: A Parable
Abstract
An essay about a young MBA graduate who became and administrative assistant to the plant manager of a good-sized manufacturing facility. The morales of the story are: (1) An optimal solution derived by suboptimal methods is still optimal, (2) He who derives an optimal solution at a cost in excess of its benefit is indeed stupid, and (3) Do not expect people to believe you have arrived at optimality unless you can explain it, and how you got there.
