Dependability of a Complex System

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1287/opre.10.3.310

In this paper the behaviour of a complex system consisting of n components of constant failure rates λ1, λ2, …, λn and repair rates pit μ1, μ2, …, μn is examined. The probability that the system is operating at time t is obtained. Also the probability that it is in outage stage i at time t has been determined. At the end, a particular case where μı's are equal is considered.
