Robbery and Assault of Bus Drivers

Robbery and assault of bus drivers in the United States increased by a factor of five between 1963 and 1968. A detailed study was, therefore, conducted to evaluate potential methods and techniques of reducing the incidence of this crime. This paper discusses the criteria used and the analysis of three of the countermeasures: exact fare, alarms, and photography.
