Technical Note—A Note on the Solution to Lanchester-Type Equations with Variable Coefficients

This note shows how to obtain a solution to Lanchester-type equations for combat between two homogeneous forces when the attrition rates are variable, provided that their quotient is a constant. Solutions are developed for either time or force separation as the independent variable.
