Technical Note—The Waiting Time in the E_k/M/1 Queuing System

In a standard M/E_k/1 queuing system, the average steady-state waiting time of an arriving customer decreases monotonically in k for a fixed arrival and service rate. This note establishes the analogous result for the dual system E_k/M/1.
