Operations Research in Production Control—A Progress Report

The case history of a continuing operations-research study in a manufacturing firm is given. The problem of making decisions on the release of production orders and the development of decision rules for the solution of this problem are presented. Some experiences on the problems of implementing the results of the study are described.
