Letter to the Editor—A Classroom Example of Linear Programming

The solution to this problem is submitted not because it has any theoretical interest at this time—linear programming has gone quite beyond this—but because it seems to be a good classroom example of the use of linear programming in solving a type of OR problem to minimize the cost of a feed mix subject to the requirements laid down by the manufacturer as to the characteristics of this mix.
