Abstract
Glover and Klingman (Glover, F., D. Klingman. 1973. A note on computational simplifications in solving generalized transportation problems. Trans. Sci.7 351–361.) give an extremely efficient procedure for updating the basis and dual evaluators in the solution of the generalized transportation problem. This note poses a shorter and simpler proof of the results of Glover and Klingman. Authors' closure by F. Glover (University of Colorado, Boulder) and D. Klingman (University of Texas, Austin, Texas) follows.
