National and Corporate Goals

This paper shares some thoughts and impressions resulting from an extraordinary learning experience: the unique opportunity and responsibility to consider in depth for approximately two years the overall qualitative state and directions of our society, and of long-range “alternative futures” that we as a nation might choose to develop. The following discussion should be regarded as tentative, subjective judgments not yet fully assimilated. But I believe the ideas are important and germane to anyone engaged in planning, policy research, or policy formulation.
