Introduction To Special Section: Airline Operations Research

This special issue is devoted to applications of MS/OR that have actually been implemented in at least one airline worldwide and that work. I made a special effort to solicit papers from practitioners and to ask practitioners as well as academics to referee the papers. This practitioner orientation made putting this special issue together extremely difficult for several reasons.
