A World War II bombardier describes the work done by operations analysts with the Eighth Air Force in World War II to improve bombing accuracy. In October 1942, less than 15 percent of the bombs dropped were falling within 1,000 feet of the assigned aiming point; in October 1944, more than 60 percent fell within this circle.
