The Fifth Column—A Triennial Editorial Policy
Abstract
Conversations and letters during the first few months of my tenure as editor of Interfaces show me that many people don't seem to know what my editorial position might be. I have assumed that anyone who didn't know by now what my position was has either: (a) Recently returned from a five year sojurn to Kafiristan, bringing stochastic programming to the Borzubi tribesmen, or (b) Doesn't read Interfaces, or (c) Has never caught one of my subtle attacks on theory-masquerading as practice at TIMS/ORSA/AIDS/APICS/ASQC/AIIE/ACM meetings. For these sins of omission and remission, I can only breathe a hearty Mea Culpa and take this chance to lay this question to rest.
