On the Successful Practice of Management Science

The papers found in this volume are a continuing contribution to the evidence that Management Science is a viable, useful profession having considerable impact on modern managerial decision making. It is my firm opinion that the foremost requirement of this profession, at this point in time, is a growing bibliography of successful applications of Management Science. By publishing here the award-winners of the annual prize competition held by the College on the Practice of Management Science, I feel that Interfaces is satisfying the single most important function of this journal.
