Over the past few months, I have been extremely interested in reading brief notes in this journal by Gene Woolsey, the Editor-in-Chief. I would like to piggyback on his comments on “sophisticated methods” and make a few comments about my 20 years' experience in the application of quantitative techniques for nonroutine management decision making.
