On a Problem in Naval Defense

Abstract
This paper deals with analytical study of the encounter of home submarines with the incoming fleet of enemy destroyers. A stochastic model is framed with a view to describing the situation and ascertaining the probabilities of hit under different conditions. In the end a particular case is deduced, and the mean time for n hits has been ascertained.
