Letter to the Editor—On a Duality Principle in the Theory of Queues

This note establishes a connection between the queue sizes of a queuing system with Poisson arrivals, batch service and general service times, and its dual. It also shows that the knowledge of this relation is useful in the simultaneous study of the busy periods of these systems with infinite waiting space.
