Letter to the Editor—Note on “Optimum Component Redundancy for Maximum System Reliability”

This paper of the above title by Robert Gordon, which appeared in the April 1957 issue of this Journal (vol. 5, pp. 229–243), is somewhat misleading, and the conclusion that arbitrarily high reliability cannot be obtained by duplication of components is in error.
