The US Army Relies on Decision Support Systems in Allocating Housing Resources

Abstract
Since 1991, the US Department of the Army has been using a heuristic programming model to better plan its housing construction and leasing. It obtained substantial economic and management benefits from using the original model. We enhanced the original model and developed a new delivery system to yield additional benefits.
