A major purpose of the College on the Practice of Management Science is “to focus attention of the management community and the public on the great value of the practice of Management Science and Operations Research.” To that end, the College on the Practice of Management Science sponsors the annual international Management Science Achievement Award Competition.

The awards were established in 1972 to recognize and honor outstanding examples of implemented Management Science. The prize is awarded to the client organization in recognition of its use of high impact Management Science. A cash award of $6,000 is given to the Management Scientists who developed and implemented the work.
