INFORMS Journal Indexing and Citations

INFORMS journals are strongly cited in numerous industry sources. Following is a short list of some important and widely used sources for identifying the top journals in the field:

  • The Financial Times includes six INFORMS journals in its FT50 list of academic journals used to evaluate and rank MBA programs: Information Systems Research, Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Marketing Science, Operations Research, and Organization Science.
  • The Chartered Association of Business Schools acknowledges five INFORMS journals as "Journals of Distinction" in their 2015 Academic Journal Guide: Information Systems Research, Management Science, Marketing Science, Operations Research, and Organization Science
  • The University of Texas at Dallas' Business School Research Rankings includes seven INFORMS journals in its evaluation of the research contribution of business schools: Information Systems Research, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Marketing Science, Operations Research, and Organization Science.
  • The research influence and impact of 12 INFORMS journals is measured by Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters) and is made available in their Web of Science and InCites Journal Citation Reports. Several of our journals are ranked in the top 10 percent of their subject categories, including operations research and management science, business, transportation science and technology, and information science and library science.
  • The American Economics Association indexes five INFORMS journals in EconLit: Decision Analysis, Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Marketing Science, and Operations Research. Peer reviewed journals are selected for inclusion on the basis of economic content, which must be substantial.
