It is pleasing to see Management Science people show increasing concern for public sector problems, including problems that relate to the legal process. It is particularly pleasing to participate in the give and take of developing improved public sector applications, including ones that relate to the Supreme Court's concern for determining when standards of due process, equal protection, or other constitutional rights have been violated. This reply to Gehrlein, William V. 1981. Management science and jury size: A commentary. Interfaces11 (4, August) 67–69 is written in that light.
