Productivity, Work Force Availability, and Rational Production Scheduling

In this paper, we discuss a fairly typical production scheduling problem. After some considerations on the structure of the process, a new approach is presented. The scheduling system proposed aims at the maximization of productivity taking into account the daily fluctuations in the work force. Encouraging results are reported.
