An Application of Interactive Multiobjective Water Resources Planning
Abstract
This paper outlines a study currently in progress involving the application of some dynamic multiobjective models to water resources planning in northern Africa. An iterative process is used that involves the generation of successive solutions that satisfy changing criteria established by decision makers of the host country. This process has enabled government officials to choose what they consider as the best compromise between three conflicting objectives: maximum water yield; maximum yield reliability; and minimum total cost.
