An Extreme-Type Limit Law for a Storage Process

A solar energy storage model is studied, where input is exponentially distributed but accepted only conditionally. The resulting Markov chain has a stationary distribution depending on two parameters. A limiting distribution is found as one parameter varies and this is used for computation of the asymptotic mean. The limit law may be regarded as a new type of extremal distribution.
