Toward a Microcomputer-Based DSS for Planning Forest Operations
Abstract
For a decision support system for operational planning of forest operations to be effective it should be based upon contemporary deterministic planning procedures and should improve a planner's ability to evaluate the effects of decision alternatives on the entire plan's budget. The computational and information-handling functions of microcomputers would allow sensitivity analyses to be performed by those most likely to understand the alternatives and their probable effects: the operating mangers.
