Operating Aspects of Materiel Distribution Activity within the Canadian Forces
Abstract
The materiel distribution activity within the Canadian Forces was evaluated to validate the current operation of the materiel traffic system (MTS). Sample transportation data were collected, and the effectiveness and efficiency of the entire MTS were statistically inferred. Because historical materiel traffic data were lacking, no comparisons could be made, and trends in performance could not be ascertained. An alternate “early time” evaluation scheme was then used to quantify MTS performance. Areas in which the MTS might be improved are suggested.
