The Monte Carlo Method as a Natural Mode of Expression in Operations Research

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1287/opre.1.2.46

Operations research is meaningless unless it gets results quickly. Every group has its own preferences, and possibly other methods are better, but the fact remains that almost all the real problems we have solved have been solved by the Monte Carlo method, which gave acceptable results in a reasonable time.

Operations Research, ISSN 0030-364X, was published as Journal of the Operations Research Society of America from 1952 to 1955 under ISSN 0096-3984.
