An Application of Knowledge-Based Systems to Navy Budget Analysis

Knowledge-based systems employ expert knowledge and problem-solving strategies to provide interactive decision support. They can significantly improve productivity in large public organizations by overcoming limitations in employees' knowledge, attention, and cognitive processing. We designed a prototype system to analyze Navy budget submissions for the US Naval Sea Systems Command.
