Manuscript Templates & Formatting Resources

INFORMS provides manuscript templates and formatting resources to help authors prepare submissions for peer review and publication. Templates are available in LaTeX and Microsoft Word format

Although use of the templates is generally not required for initial submission, authors are strongly encouraged to prepare manuscripts using the appropriate journal template whenever possible.

The INFORMS LaTeX templates are designed not only to support consistent formatting, but also to improve the review and production process. In particular, the templates:

• help authors identify equations and mathematical expressions that may exceed final publication column widths,
• assist authors in formatting mathematical content for readability and accurate typesetting,
• automatically generate appropriately anonymized output for double-anonymous peer review, and
• help ensure that the manuscript reviewed by editors and referees closely reflects the appearance and structure of the final published article.

These features are intended to improve clarity for reviewers, reduce delays during production, and minimize the risk of mathematical formatting problems being discovered after acceptance.

Each template package typically includes:

• journal-specific manuscript templates,
• document class and style files,
• BibTeX reference style files (for LaTeX templates),
• sample files and formatting examples, and
• documentation and usage instructions.
