Statement from the Editor Regarding “Status Conflict in Groups”

In the original version of the paper “Status Conflict in Groups” by Corinne Bendersky and Nicholas A. Hays (Organization Science, Articles in Advance, August 4, 2010, DOI 10.1287/orsc.1100.0544), one of the variables in the hierarchical OLS regressions in Table 5 was misspecified. This was discovered by the authors after the online publication of the article in Articles in Advance. The accepting editor-in-chief, Daniel Levinthal, has chosen to retract the original published paper, allowing the authors the opportunity to resubmit a new paper that fully resolves those issues to the satisfaction of the authors and the journal.
