From the Editor
Introduction
Last year we celebrated 25 years of publication of Organization Science, and the editors of the journal since its inception contributed to the section “Organization Science at 25” in the November–December 2014 issue (Vol. 25, No. 6). I am writing to inform you on the ways in which Organization Science continues to make progress.
The main strength of Organization Science lies in the quality and diversity of our senior editors. This intellectually diverse group allows the journal to provide high-quality editorial efforts across a wide range of content domains and methodological approaches. Clearly the major task of the editor-in-chief is to attract and retain an outstanding group of senior editors. In 2014, seven senior editors left the board, three to assume editorial positions at Management Science and Administrative Science Quarterly, and two to take vice dean positions in their schools. Since then, eight other highly qualified scholars have joined us, and the board is stable going forward.
Manuscript FlowThe journal has seen a steady increase in submissions over the years; we received 765 new submissions over the last year (our calendar year is July 1 to June 30, as this allows us to examine the most recent data when I meet with the senior editors and Editorial Review Board at the Academy of Management (AoM) meetings in August). The journal has seen a dramatic decrease in time from submission to first decision; down from 100 days in 2010 gradually to 40 in 2015 (see Figure 1).

Organization Science is also reaching out to our community via social media. Our goal is to be sure that our colleagues see Organization Science papers as often as they see those of the AoM, and other leading management journals. We are connecting via Twitter and Facebook with accepted and published papers, conference announcements, and congratulations for best paper and other awards. We started with Twitter in September of 2014 and have more than 1,000 followers. At the 2015 AoM meetings, the senior editors asked that the journal join Facebook. We have 131 likes.
Please follow/like our accounts and let us know how we can best support your work through these communication channels. If you have published in Organization Science and are not yet on our authors Twitter list (https://twitter.com/OrganizationSci/lists/organizationsci-authors), please tweet @OrganizationSci with a short title and volume/issue number, and we will add you to the list.
Winter ConferenceTwitter: @OrganizationSci

The journal has been running a winter conference almost since its inception. Last winter we moved from Colorado to Park City, Utah, which helps a lot since Salt Lake City is accessible throughout the winter from many locations in the United States. Last winter and this coming winter the conference drew many proposed panels and poster articles, more than can be accepted because the idea is to keep the conference relatively small.
Going ForwardOrganization Science is in great health. It has outstanding stature in the field as a journal that is open to diverse approaches and a taste for provocative work that engages the management community. The two-year impact factor is 3.775, while the five-year impact factor has gone up to 6.309. The Google ranking puts us at number 14 out of 185 in the total field of management-related journals. In addition, Organization Science is ranked among the top three journals in the strategic management subcategory based on the H5 index. Our sister journal Strategy Science is going to make its first appearance soon. While it will likely publish articles that focus on strategic issues in organizations, I hope that there will be a synergetic effect that will increase the reputation of both journals.
